But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil. —II Thessalonians 3:3
May I daily read Your Word
Feed upon the passages
As sheep graze the field
Totally dependent on the caring Shepherd
To protect,
To lead and guide,
up scary, narrow mountain paths
To green mountain meadows
And waters still and safe to wade
Fill my being with truth
Relying on God’s grace
Not my wayward pride
That leads to dangerous cliffs
And tearing brambles
That catch mud-stained wool
Needing, bleating for the
blood-stained hands of the Shepherd
To set free, to save.
I kneel, yield to hands that extract thorns
Wash my wool
Make me clean
Recognizing my need
To stay close to the Shepherd
Heed His instructions
That I might always
Live in the security of His
Protecting staff.
Dear Jesus, I am thankful that no matter what, I can rest in You. Amen.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
