We’d seen the previews and knew the basic story of a boy falling through the ice. Though he is rescued, there is little to no hope of survival. Until his mother stormed heaven. Her stubborn faith changed lives.
But this is not a slick, shallow preachy presentation. This movie isn’t about perfect little Christians who call down God’s favor. This movie is about real people who struggle, get angry and sometimes act nothing like the stereotypical “Christian.”
This movie tells it like it is and how God works to change us from within as we recognize our need. That still doesn’t make us super Christians, only persons willing to realize we need to reach outside of ourselves to the only one who offers help–Jesus.
This is a quality production with a true story worth repeating. Take your family, take the youth group, take a neighbor. Go see a movie that lifts up instead of tears down.
