I deal in hope : Carolyn R Scheidies

Poetry: Love Vs Anger

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking,
be put away from you, with all malice:
And be kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake
has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32

Love gives no place,
To angry words spoken in haste,
For anger filled with hate and sin,
Shrouds me from my Savior’s face.

Anger, hot and ugly, hides,
Parts asunder, separates, divides,
Smashes love into minute pieces,
’til but hate abides.

Love is kind, gentle, patient, true,
Measure of our walk, Lord, with You,
Disciplines with firmness and with love,
Patiently seeks the relationship to renew.

For love gives anger no such face,
But dwells on Him who took our place,
Destroying hate and sin within,
Anger, despair replaced by Jesus’ grace.

Sometimes anger twists inside and I don’t know how to deal with it. In those times, Lord, help me find positive ways to diffuse it. Help me also turn to you for forgiveness when I “blow up.” Amen.
