I am thankful for friends, true friends.
The kind who rally round
In times of trouble, sorrow and grief,
Who don’t expect a return for their
Time, effort and care,
Who give a hug, a smile,
Sharing silence as they
Walk that extra mile.
Friends who cry with me,
Laugh with me,
Who help me be real, to heal,
Help me move on. Who help me
In turn, to reach out, help others,
Becoming a friend indeed to another in need.
Together we make the world this day,
A better place,
Because we are the truest friends—
A friend who is there.
