I deal in hope : Carolyn R Scheidies

Blog: January 12, 2018 Why in Omaha

Hubby and I arrived in Omaha/Bellevue last Tuesday. Our reason? To help out Cassie and Kurt with our 11-month-old granddaughter while Cassie had gallbladder surgery.

Wednesday was surgery day. Kurt took her into the hospital first thing in the morning. Amazingly, the medical staff did the surgery and she was back home by early afternoon.

Now, Cassie is in the healing stage and we’re on baby Ellery duty. Kurt works and does so much. He is definitely a treasure for Cassie and as part of our family.

Cassie still cannot lift and often needs to rest/sleep.

I am not getting much of my work/writing done this week, but we’re right where we need to be this week.

We’re spending quality time with our granddaughter. That is a blessing we are thankful for.

Your detours can also take you places with new experiences, deeper faith and great blessings.

Sometimes life takes us on paths other than we plan. If we’re following Christ, then those other paths may not not so much be detours as places God has us for reasons that only He knows. The important thing is to follow His leading, not our own.
