I deal in hope : Carolyn R Scheidies

Poetry: Fear

A companion of worry,
Like a dog with a bone,
Not letting go until it
Pervades thoughts,
Decisions, Choices.
Fear sublimates trust.
No trust when fear fills
Every waking moment
And dominates nightmares.
Fear of failure,
Financial uncertainty.
Fear loss of spouse, child,
Relationship, Work.
Fear of loneliness today,
And an unknown,
Uncertain future.
Living in fear eats away,
Leaves an empty, crumpled husk.
Fear the result of locking Him out,
Forget to reach out,
Forget fear is a choice.
Will my choice remain
Fear that enslaves,
Or will I release worry,
Stress and fear,
Choose instead to trust
Cling to He, Christ Jesus,
Who lived, died and rose
To set me free?

Maybe it’s time to
Take up the cross and follow Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
