Christmas is a special time for me,
as I, with my family, trim the tree,
As we carefully set out the manger scene,
And renew our memories.
The house is filled with the smell,
of cookies shaped as snowmen and bells.
From the radio, Christmas music swells.
And even strangers wish you well.
But Christmas is more than decorated trees,
More than parties or memories.
It is all about Jesus—not about me.
So at the manger I bow the knee,
To thank Jesus for coming to earth for me.
