I deal in hope : Carolyn R Scheidies

Poetry: Walls I Make

What I think of as walls
Often turn out to be
My stubborn pride,
An unwillingness to listen–at all,
Refusal to hear,
Refusal to risk,
Out of fear,
A determination to dig in
Accepting only
My will, not His direction,
My way, not His correction.
Only as I lay myself down, bow…
And lift Him up
Do things shift.
Walls become doors.
His plans within
Become my map, my core,
My way to healing, wholeness and hope,
In Him.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:
if any man hear my voice, and open the door,
I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me. –Revelation 3:20 KJV
