I deal in hope : Carolyn R Scheidies

Devotion: It’s About Grace

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, —Philippians 3:9-10a

Can’t work my way to Heaven
Church attendance won’t grant me grace
Caring for my neighbors, though good,
is but a taste of faith
For faith is more than good works and efforts
More than following the Ten Commandments
More than seeking “brownie” points
More than sacraments.
Grace is a gift from a Savior
Who came, who gave His life,
For you, for me, that He
Might offer forgiveness, hope, life
To all who come to Him
Who believe on His name
And turn from works to a relationship.
His gift–grace
And in loving Him
I behold His face
And bow.
