What about MY rights?
Proverbs 25:21-22 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread thato eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink: For you shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward you.
It’s all about ME! No one steps on MY rights. This philosophy results in violence and anger when a person is crossed. For when we put ourselves #1 and there is no place for God’s guidance or intervention, we always feel insecure. Why? Deep down we realize how tenuous our grip on our lives and decisions are. Me, First and always, leads to selfishness not compassion for others.
Compassion starts in the heart of the God of love. Only as we let Jesus be our center and foundation will we be secure enough to let go and reach out to truly love others as ourselves. Only then will we seek the best, not take offense or seek revenge, even for our enemies.
II Corinthians 5:14-15 For the love of Christ guides us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
